Easter for me is very heavily orientated around bunnies, chocolate and chicks. Many people will be baking Easter themed treats and so I decided to do some baking myself, but decided to go for an easy peasy recipe that is easy to do whether your an adult just wanting a sweet treat, or if you have children to entertain over the Easter holidays which are coming up soon.Β If you want to see how to recreate these Easter nests then keep on reading!
You will need:
cornflakes (or rice krispies or crumbled up shredded wheat)
milk chocolate (LOTS OF IT)
golden syrup
butter
cupcake baking tray
cupcake cases
and something for decoration (Mini Eggs is the obvious idea)
Firstly set your cupcake cases into the tray ready for when the mixture is complete. Then weigh out your ingredients (easy recipes and measurement guidelines can be found using google). Melt you chocolate, golden syrup and butter in a bowl over boiling water in a pan to make sure that the chocolate does not burn whilst heating it. When the chocolate mixture is smooth with no lumps of chocolate transfer into the bowl with the dry ingredients in, in my case this was cornflakes. Mix the ingredients all together until well combined and transfer into the cupcake cases, making sure you press down slightly to make sure that all of the cornflakes stick together nicely to make a nest. Press in your decorations, which in my case was mini eggs and I decided to put three eggs in each nest, but the amount and what you put on is totally up to you.
Leave to cool in the fridge for at least half an hour and ENJOY!
Hope you enjoyed this easy recipe and hope you all have a lovely Easter!
Love your little alien
